Prof. Chen got his BSc from Shandong University in 2010, and Ph.D. degree from the department of physics of Fudan University in 2016, (supervisor: Prof. Yuanbo Zhang). From 2017 to 2020, he worked at the University of California, Berkeley and Lawrence-Berkeley National Lab as a postdoc fellow (Prof. Feng Wang research group). In 2020, he joined the School of Physics and Astronomy, Shanghai Jiao Tong University as a tenure-track associate professor and PI.
Research Interests:
We are interested in novel electronic states emerging from the dimension, correlation, and topology in condensed matter, especially in two-dimensional materials (graphene and beyond) and their van der Waals heterostructures. To explore the quantum phases, we use and develop modern state-of-the-art semiconductor device fabrication techniques, and probe by electrical transport measurement at low temperatures and high magnetic fields. Exploring new materials, new techniques and new physics is the core of our research.
