1. Application for "Foreigners' Work Permit" and "Residence Permit for Work Purposes"
Foreigners working at Shanghai Jiao Tong University shall obtain the "Foreigners' Work Permit" and the work-related "Foreigners' Residence Permit" in accordance with national regulations.
The "Notice of Foreigners' Work Permit" shall be applied to the university 2 months in advance before the foreigner enters China. Foreigners can go to the overseas embassies or consulates specified in the application to apply for a work visa (Z visa) for entry by virtue of the "Notice of Foreigners' Work Permit".
For the relevant declaration materials and procedures of the "Foreigners' Work Permit", please refer to the "Guidelines for Application of Foreigners' Work Permit and Foreigners' Residence Permit".
Application for "Notice of Foreigners' Work Permit" (to be submitted to the university 2 months before the contract takes effect). (If the applicant is overseas, they must first apply for the "Notice of Foreigners' Work Permit" before applying for the "Foreigners' Work Permit".)
Application for "Foreigners' Work Permit" (to be submitted to the university 2 months before the contract takes effect).
Extension of "Foreigners' Work Permit" (to be submitted to the university 2 months before the contract expires).
Modification of "Foreigners' Work Permit" (to be submitted to the university within 7 working days after the occurrence of changes).
Cancellation of "Foreigners' Work Permit" (to be submitted to the university within 10 working days after the occurrence of relevant matters).
Supplementary submission for "Foreigners' Work Permit"
Determined in accordance with the Classification Standards for Foreigners Working in China, details are as follows:
A1: Those selected into relevant domestic talent programs
A2: Professors, associate professors or holders of equivalent positions employed by overseas institutions
A3: Those employed by our university as associate professors or above, or holders of equivalent positions
A5: Outstanding young talents under 40 years old (foreign postdoctoral researchers)
Highest academic degree/diploma certificate and its authentication.
All non-Chinese materials must be translated into Chinese with original translations. The translations must be stamped by the translation company and the college.
Work experience certificate (certificate of postdoctoral admission) (provided by Erzhuo Deng).
Employment contract or appointment certificate (temporary template, only for work permit application) (provided by Erzhuo Deng).
Physical examination for foreigners: Make an appointment at Shanghai International Travel Healthcare Center, located at No. 15 Jinbang Road.
All materials must be color scans of the original documents, with a size not exceeding 1MB.
